Scandalous bill and riots in the capital of Georgia
Law enforcers used tear gas and water cannon against protesters near the Georgian parliament in the center of Tbilisi. Before that, according to media reports, police fired pepper spray.
Earlier, the Georgian Interior Ministry urged the protesters against the draft law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence" to avoid artificial escalation of events and not to prevent MPs and parliamentary staff from leaving the parliament building, where the controversial bill was being considered at the plenary session in the second reading.
Later, the special forces drove out the protesters, who threw various objects at the law enforcers.
According to the assessment of Public Defender Levan Ioseliani, by the time the Interior Ministry sounded the warning and after that the action was peaceful and there were no grounds for its termination or use of force.
Several citizens were injured during the rally in front of the Georgian Parliament.
So far, 20 citizens have been assisted.
