On February 10, 2026, the poet, editor, translator, Honored Journalist of Georgia, member of the Writers' Union, laureate of the Ilia Chavchavadze Prize, the Ivane Machabeli Prize, and holder of the Order of Honor Camilla-Mariam Korinteli passed away.

She turned 93 this fall, and she continued to write, translate, and communicate with her colleagues. Kamilla-Mariam Korinteli left behind a significant literary legacy. At the same time, her friends remark on her incredible kindness and zest for life, despite her difficult life.

"A wonderful, kind, and very interesting person, a beautiful woman, refined, highly educated, a native of Tbilisi—a Tbiliseli—this is far from a complete list of what could be said about Kamilla. Her cherished memory will always live in my heart! There are no coincidences in fate, so I am certain that people like Kamilla-Mariam Korinteli come into our sinful world to make it kinder and brighter," poet Marina Kirakosova-Mosesova said in a conversation with us. She noted that Kamilla Nikolaevna succeeded in achieving this fully and fulfilled her noble mission on earth with excellence. In her final years, she and Kamilla Nikolaevna enjoyed a strong friendship; they often communicated, and these moments brought genuine pleasure. According to the poet, "When people like Kamilla leave this mortal coil, it feels as if the feathers of our soul's wings are clipped, and the world becomes poorer and dimmer for us."
