Awarding of the Caucasus International University Scientific Prize "Tamar"
The fourth award ceremony of the Caucasus International University Scientific Prize - "Tamar" was held at the Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metekhi Palace Hotel.
The prize was established in 2017 at the Caucasus International University with the blessing of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II and aims to stimulate scientific activity and honor the work of scientific personnel.
The prize was named in honor of the progressive and humane policy implementer in the Caucasus, the patron of intellectuals and artists, the Georgian Queen Tamar.
The winners of the "Tamar" Prize were announced during the event - First Prize - Sofio Rigvava; Second Prize - Magda Tortladze; Third degree prize - Nino Mindiashvili, winners were also announced in the following nominations - "For Outstanding Scientific Achievements" - Georgian cardiac surgeon Tornike Sologhashvili working in Geneva and "Young Scientist" - Shengeli Kikilashvili.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the Shota Rustaveli Georgian National Science Foundation and various state and private sectors, as well as the leadership of Caucasus International University, academic/administrative staff, representatives of scientific circles and invited guests.
For your information, over the past 8 years, Caucasus International University has seen a significant increase in scientific publications and research activity:
• More than 300 scientific articles were published in international refereed journals, including 114 in the Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection databases;
• University affiliated staff participated in more than 130 international scientific conferences;
• More than 40 research projects were carried out in collaboration with international scientists;
• Grant funding was obtained from leading international institutions, including: Horizon Europe, CIF, DAAD;
• In the last three years, 14 projects won grant competitions of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, including 5 grant projects for fundamental research;
• The university scientific journal was established, which is already indexed in the ERIH PLUS and Index Copernicus scientific databases.
Over the years, the Tamar Prize has been awarded to outstanding Georgian scientists who have made a significant contribution to the country's scientific progress, both locally and internationally
