The Presentation Ceremony of Magtymguly Fragi’s Collection of Poems into the Georgian Language
A presentation ceremony of a collection of poems by the classic Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi into Georgian was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the Embassy of Georgia in Turkmenistan, representatives of foreign states and international organizations operating in our country, representatives of mass media, as well as instructors and students of our institute attended the event. The heads of the Creative Union of Writers of Georgia, the Georgian National Center of Manuscripts named after Korneli Kekelidze, the Department of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of Georgia, as well as famous journalists of Georgia attended the event via video link.
At the beginning of the event, the Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Gulshat Yusupova gave an opening speech. Then, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan Konstantin Sabiashvili, Director of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Davut Orazsahedov, Editor-in-Chief of the «Dünýä edebiýaty» magazine Rahmet Gylyjov, Head of the Department of Turkmen Literature of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Candidate of Philological Sciences Aman Shyhnepesov held speeches. The speakers discussed in detail the importance of translating the poems of the wise poet into Georgian in the year 2024 under the slogan “The Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi.” The speakers noted that this is a symbol of the deep respect of the Georgian people for the great Turkmen thinker. In this regard, it was especially emphasized that various cultural and social events were organized in Georgia to mark the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi’s birth. In particular, a specialized classroom dedicated to the great poet and thinker of the Turkmen people Magtymguly Fragi was opened at Sukhumi State University in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The participants of the event noted in their speeches that the poems of Magtymguly Fragi published in the new collection were warmly received by Georgian readers, and emphasized that the publication of this book was an important step in strengthening Turkmen-Georgian cultural and humanitarian ties.
In conclusion, we can say that this event became another proof of the strengthening of the international authority of Magtymguly Fragi as a result of the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and our Esteemed President Arkadagly Hero Serdar.
