As part of the project, Georgian schoolchildren will visit seven more Belarusian cities, where a rich program has been prepared for them.
TBILISI, June 22 — Sputnik. The Georgian delegation, as part of the "Train of Memory" project, is participating in commemorative events in Belarus dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War.
The fifth season of the international cultural and educational project, as per tradition, began at the walls of the Brest Fortress, where young people met with Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic and Speaker of the Upper House of the Belarusian Parliament.
Anastasia Kvinikhidze, a schoolgirl from Tbilisi, was one of the first to ask Kochanova a question and thank her for organizing the Georgian children's visit to the mass grave of poet Mirza Gelovani, who died during the liberation of Belarus.
Afterwards, the Georgian schoolchildren established contact with the Mirza Gelovani School, located near the mass grave in the village of Sanniki. The Georgian delegation, with the assistance of the Belarusian Ambassador to Georgia, Nikolai Rogashuk, donated T-shirts and balls to the school.
