Georgia Celebrates Kazakhstan People's Unity Day
On the eve of the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Kazakhstan organized an event in the capital of Georgia, “Under a Single Shanyrak,” dedicated to this national holiday.
Representatives of different nationalities who once lived in Kazakhstan met at a round table and shared their opinions on the changes taking place in country.
The audience was presented with the main content of the speech of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the XXXIV session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, told about the activities of the Assembly in general, preparations for the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions this fall, and our country's initiatives to strengthen interethnic and interfaith harmony.
Inga Peradze, who returned to her historical homeland after 30 years of living in Kazakhstan, noted the importance of such meetings and with special feeling said that she remembers and misses Kazakhstan and the Kazakh people. The Azerbaijanis, Georgians, Tatars, Russians and Turks present at the event emphasized that they lived in Kazakhstan in harmony, like children of the same house, and wherever they were, they would continue to glorify their second homeland.
A master class on national ornaments, conducted by Zhanat Kshaeva and Gulmira Kurenkeyeva, also aroused great interest. They
talked about their significance in the life and everyday life of the Kazakh people. In the cozy Asian House Cafe, even those who had never picked up a brush were overcome with a creative impulse. The participants exchanged their paintings with each other, which you can see in our photo and video report. The guests present asked the embassy staff to continue the tradition of holding such vibrant events.
