The Anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is a Triumph of Peace
The 34th session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is being held in Astana under the chairmanship of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Thousands of representatives of numerous ethnic communities of the country are participating in the session.
The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, created on March 1, 1995, turned 30 years old. The country's President Tokayev received congratulations from the leaders of countries and international organizations, including from the Secretary General of UNESCO.
As part of the anniversary of the organization, which has become the herald of stability and peace, it is planned to hold more than 150 major events.
The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev appointed two new deputy chairmen of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan (APK) - Dmitry Ostankovich and Rasul Akhmetov.
In an interview with GeorgiaPress, Dmitry Ostankovich, who also heads the organization "Belarusian Cultural Center "Radima", noted that it is a great responsibility and honor for him to hold such an important position:
"The anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is not just a bright event, but a triumph of peace, friendship and creation. We are happy that we live in a peaceful and tolerant country. I will note that, there are 60 thousand Belarusians living in Kazakhstan, and about 5 thousand Belarusians in Astana".
