During the consideration of the lawsuit against LLC "Compatriot" in the Tbilisi City Court, director Tamar Bregvadze delegated the right to represent the organization to her husband, Dmitry Bregvadze, who is also an accountant for the Legal Protection Center and the Union of Russian Youth.

At the same time, Dmitry Bregvadze works as an accountant for the newspaper "Compatriot" and has access to the organization's bank account and budget funds, into which money from the sale of the newspaper "Compatriot" is deposited.

In court, despite promising Judge Liana Kazashvili that he would provide invoices covering several years, Bregvadze never did so. Liana Kazashvili asked Bregvadze whether he had in fact paid employees their salaries (while deducting money from employees' salaries and fees, he allegedly did not transfer those amounts to the state budget) and requested that he submit the invoices to verify that he had paid the honoraria in cash. Bregvadze objected, arguing that because the statute of limitations had expired, he was not required to pay taxes to the state budget. Although Kazashvili requested that he provide the documents, this was never done.

Dmitry Bregvadze presents himself as a human rights defender. His phone number is listed among lawyers on various websites. Together with Alexander Bezhentsev, he also organizes a children's camp during which, according to Georgian media reports, a drunken man broke into the room of an underage girl through a balcony.
