Miranda Oganezova

The Baikal-Amur Mainline is a megaproject of the USSR, in which Georgian romantics also participated. They built the beautiful village of Nya-Gruzinskaya in Siberia, in the middle of the taiga.

The construction was led by Anzor Dvalishvili, the husband of the youngest Master of Sports of the USSR in athletics, USSR champion, world record holder, Olympic medalist, Nadezhda Khnikina, who raised an entire generation of Georgians at the BAM.

They fell in love with Siberia

The main stage of the construction of one of the largest and most unique highways of the 20th century, which was conceived back in the 19th century, was carried out in 1974-1984, when more than 4,000 km of track were laid in the most difficult conditions. Many young people traveled to the construction site with guitars and accordions, not even suspecting that Bam, most of which was located in a permafrost zone, would become for them a harsh school of courage and life.
